History
This story begins back in 1816 when the Reverend Robert Stirling Scotland invents a motor that has a number of advantages over gasoline or diesel. Among these advantages are its efficiency or lack of noise, but will the fact that the Stirling engine is an external combustion engine which allows to use solar radiation as a heat source to make the engine run. That is, all motor to need two bulbs, a hot and a cooler, hot reservoir is usually achieved by burning a fuel, but the fact that the chamber is external combustion Stirling permits you to get the focus hot concentrated solar radiation at one point, for example with a parabolic dish.
Operation
The parabolic solar disk is a system for concentrating solar radiation and make this impinges on a receiver placed at the focus of the disc. Attached to said receptor exists a heat exchanger that heats the working fluid, helium or hydrogen. The fluid, to altapresión and temperature, it expands in the pistons of a Stirling-type engine, which moves the shaft of a small electrical generator.
Not being in the right place at the right time
In the nineteenth and early to mid twentieth century, the continuing discoveries of new deposits of fossil resources made these increased faster than their consumption, resulting in falling prices, which meant that there was no interest in developing an industry of renewable energy sources and therefore of Stirling.
How long?
Although at present the Spanish production of energy from this technology continues to grow, we engaged in a deficient energy history, where we buy energy to others, which in turn pay / pay for polluting a share purchased in the third world. Really surreal, rather than priority, investigate and implement methods that will lead to an energy system ever cleaner once and for all and with maximum speed, you need the Planet. Since there are no technical justifications for not further develop this technology, having been amply demonstrated in different parts of the Spanish geography and global effectiveness and efficiency of this system and the like as capacez to meet energy demand in large populations, both level and industrial users.
